Are you a tough enough pony to defend the Bank of Equestria?

The only game I've actually finished and released so far. Not an original concept: in fact, it's pretty much just a recreation of the classic Bank Panic arcade game by Sega. It's slightly different in how it works but the changes have mostly been made with fairness in mind.

So, you might be wondering, as this is something a few people have asked me. What on Earth compelled me to make this? Well, simple answer really. I always wanted to remake Bank Panic, and because I can make the theme anything I want to, it's gotta be ponies. The original game has a great touch of slapstick humor and I thought it translated quite well to the setting of MLP. It also kind of became a parody of the episode "Over A Barrel", one of my least favourites from S1 but one that's at least amusing to make fun of. Censoring all the violence of the old west by replacing the gunfights with pie fights just like they did in the show.

Things kind of fell into place and I found an apt pony themed replacement for each of the elements from Bank Panic. There's two things missing from the original though: no tied up clients and no chance for a 1up. That's down to feeling like I was "done" with the game, and there's a few reasons for that.

It seemed to me like I had already invested too much time in something like this, after all, creating this was supposed to be a break from working on my "main" game. The other reason is that it didn't seem to go over too well with people in general. I can't say for sure what went wrong, but I guess it might be that retro game fans are scared off by ponies while pony fans are scared off by old games. Not too much overlap there!

Either way, if you're the kind of person that enjoys both, you're darn cool. Oh, you might also enjoy the game. Otherwise just consider it a a weird little curiosity that had way too much effort put into it for what it is.
